The Delicious Delight of White Pasta: A Culinary Classic

Pasta, with its countless variations and versatility, has become a staple in kitchens worldwide. One particular type that stands out is white pasta, a beloved classic that has delighted taste buds for generations. In this blog post, we will dive into the origins, characteristics, and irresistible appeal of white pasta.

Ingredients:

- 8 ounces of white pasta (such as fettuccine or penne)

- 2 tablespoons of butter

- 2 cloves of garlic, minced

- 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour

- 1 ½ cups of milk

- ½ cup of grated Parmesan cheese

- Salt and pepper to taste

- Fresh parsley or basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the white pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set it aside.

2. Prepare the white sauce: In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden.

3. Make a roux: Sprinkle the flour over the melted butter and garlic, stirring constantly for about 1 minute to cook off the raw flour taste.

4. Gradually add the milk: Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously to avoid any lumps. Continue whisking until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer. Allow it to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to ensure the flour is fully cooked and the sauce has thickened.

5. Add the Parmesan cheese: Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Keep stirring until the cheese is melted and fully incorporated into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

6. Combine the pasta and sauce: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the white sauce. Toss the pasta gently to coat it evenly with the sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, you can add a splash of milk to adjust the consistency.

7. Serve and garnish: Transfer the white sauce pasta to serving plates or bowls. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil leaves if desired. You can also sprinkle some extra Parmesan cheese on top.

Enjoy your creamy and delicious white sauce pasta!
